When choosing wallpaper, it's also important to understand the functions of primer (used for sealing walls), adhesive powder, and adhesive paste, as these directly affect the installation quality and final effect. A complete wallpaper installation includes primer, adhesive, and wallpaper itself; any step that is not environmentally friendly will affect the final result. The unseen steps-primer and adhesive-are even more crucial. Many wallpaper installation problems are caused by the adhesive.
Colorfastness
While brightly colored wallpaper is certainly beautiful, don't forget to wipe it with a damp cloth on-site to check for color bleeding, especially with textured wallpapers that will require frequent cleaning and maintenance.
Environmental Testing
The environmental friendliness of wallpaper depends on the material, grade of materials used, printing process, etc. On-site testing can be done by burning a small sample (high-grade environmentally friendly wallpaper has no burning odor or thick smoke, and the ash is a gray powder) and by smell (PVC wallpaper has a distinct plastic smell, and low-grade wallpaper has a strong printing ink smell). Newly unrolled pulp wallpaper with no odor has the highest environmental friendliness rating.
Pay attention to the material. There are many patterns and colors of wallpaper on the market, but there are also many materials. Paper-based PVC wallpaper accounts for a large part, and the raw material cost is relatively low. Some imported PVC wallpapers are priced very high. High-end wallpapers usually use pure paper and non-woven fabric materials.
