PVC wallpaper is a wall decoration material made from paper, non-woven fabric, or textile materials as the base material, coated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin or covered with a PVC film. Its main component is a high-molecular polymer. Based on different base materials and processes, it is mainly divided into ordinary, foamed, and functional types.

PVC wallpaper is mainly divided into three types based on its base material and process. Ordinary wallpaper uses 80g/m² paper as the base material, coated with 100g/m² PVC resin. Its surface decoration methods are usually printing, embossing, or a combination of printing and embossing. Foamed wallpaper uses 100g/m² paper as the base material, coated with 300-400g/m² PVC resin. It is divided into low-foaming and high-foaming types according to the foaming ratio. High-foaming wallpaper has an elastic, textured surface and has a certain sound-absorbing effect. Functional wallpapers use special substrates. For example, water-resistant wallpapers use fiberglass cloth as the substrate, while fire-retardant wallpapers use 100-200g/m² asbestos paper as the substrate, with flame retardants added to the PVC surface material. Their structure typically consists of two layers: a base substrate (paper, non-woven fabric, etc.) and a surface adhesive layer (PVC layer).
