PVC wallpaper boasts excellent physical properties and decorative effects, including good water resistance and a variety of patterns, making it widely suitable for wall decoration in homes and commercial spaces.

However, PVC wallpaper has relatively weak environmental performance and may contain volatile substances such as formaldehyde and vinyl chloride. While PVC itself is non-toxic, the vinyl chloride monomer used in its polymerization is carcinogenic. Processing aids such as lead salts, cadmium salts, and barium salts may contain toxic substances. It produces toxic gases when burned, posing a fire risk. Plasticizers may have teratogenic and carcinogenic effects.

When purchasing, you can check for irritation by smelling it. A strong, pungent odor indicates a higher content of volatile substances such as formaldehyde and vinyl chloride. It is recommended to avoid using PVC wallpaper in bedrooms, elderly people's rooms, or children's rooms.
